Fresh Arts Exhibitions
Fresh Arts has a vibrant exhibition programme covering four
different gallery spaces across the 2 hospitals. 2 of these
galleries exhibit work from local schools and colleges whilst the
other 2 exhibit work from local and nationally-renowned artists,
art groups and local organisations.
We host both selling and non-profit-making exhibitions. If
an exhibited artwork is sold as a direct result of being displayed
in the hospitals, the artist donates 20% of the price to Fresh
Arts. This donation helps to run the programme.
The Hip
Space, Southmead Hospital
The Hip Space is situated in the Avon and Orthopaedic Centre. It is
located in a busy corridor within the centre used by many staff,
patients and visitors at the hospital.
Fromeshaw Gallery, Frenchay
Hospital
Fromeshaw Gallery is a bright, sunlit gallery space located between
South and Middle entrances on the ground floor of the Phase One
building at Frenchay Hospital.
The Hip Space and Fromeshaw Gallery show both solo and group
exhibitions and are changed every three months.
The Oak Gallery, Southmead Hospital
The Oak Gallery is our largest gallery space and is dedicated to
exhibiting work from local schools and colleges. It is
situated between the main corridor and K Ward at Southmead
Hospital.
Feed the Mind, Frenchay Hospital
Feed the Mind exhibits 20 pictures for a local school or college,
transforming the Redwood Restaurant at Frenchay Hospital.
Frames are provided by Fresh Arts for any exhibitions in The Oak
Gallery and Feed the Mind. Exhibitions last 6 months.

The exhibitions are a great source of interest for staff and patients alike. Even if the exhibits aren't to everyone's taste, they do provoke comment and discussion.
I saw the exhibit while visiting my Mum. The view is of where I grew up and used to sit and watch the sun go down. It evoked such happy memories.
