Work Experience
There is a range of educational work experience opportunities
available to give students practical and observational work
experience within the NHS.
For 14-18 year olds, only term time work
experience is offered at North Bristol NHS Trust due to
health and safety regulations, insurance and school support
not being available during school holidays (an essential
requirement).
School Liason Programme
The aim of the schools liaison programme would be that it
provides the opportunity for local young people to gain knowledge
of roles within the health service and for them to consider those
roles as a possible career choice in the future.
To improve our competitiveness within
the employment market, it is vital that NBT, Schools and colleges
work together to ensure that young people are better informed and
prepared for the world of work, with the necessary skills and
motivation.

Application Process
A new policy for work experience has been
ratified by the Workforce Governence Group. The policy involves the
implementation of a more streamlined recruitment and selection
process, this means that applications will be invited between
September and December each academic year, after which applications
will be closed. Short listing takes place in January and interviews
in February.
