Ken Guy
Ken Guy has had a long and distinguished financial career with the Royal Mail, working his way to Divisional Finance Director for Wales and the South West before moving to the Soil Association as Finance Director/Company Secretary. He is an independent member of the Audit Committee at Bristol City Council and a Trustee of Aspects and Milestones Trust.
Stephen Hughes
Stephen Hughes is a partner with Bevan Brittan solicitors, where he is a member of the executive board. He has advised NHS bodies, Government agencies and departments, and private sector organisations within the healthcare sector on strategic and commercial issues.
Robert Mould
Robert Mould is a company director with experience in the UK, Europe and North America. He has worked for construction materials manufacturers Blue Circle Industries and Lafarge, specialising in commercial and general management. He currently runs his own consultancy business. He is a qualified mediator and advisor for Bristol Mediation, a member of the Institute of Directors, active in the South West branch and is a School Governor at Northleaze Primary School in Long Ashton.
Andrew Neild
Andrew Nield has had a long and distinguished career in finance. From 2000 to 2007 he was Group Finance Director for Bristol Water Group where responsibilities included financial and treasury management, strategic planning, capital investment management and pensions. Prior to this he spent 12 years at Anglian Water plc (now AWG plc) where he took on several key roles in the Finance Department until he was appointed as Director of Financial Services. Mr Nield has also worked at Swindon Health Authority and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, holding various positions in finance. He is currently Finance Director at Bristol University.
Nick Patel
Nick Patel has worked for the Civil Service, Private Sector and Local Government. He has held many senior positions and leadership roles in the public sector and has held various Executive Director positions at the Bristol Development Corporation. This body oversaw the major regeneration of the St Philips and Temple Quay areas of the city including the building of the £55 million Bristol Spine Road and £500 million private investment projects in the area. He retired in February 2005 following five years at the Welsh Assembly where he was Project Director for the NHS Resource Allocation Review. Currently he is Chair of Governors at Hartcliffe Engineering Community College and a Board Member of Hartcliffe Community Campus.
Avril Waterman
Professor Avril Waterman-Pearson has had a long and distinguished career in teaching veterinary surgery, holding numerous senior positions at the Universities of Bristol, Glasgow and Liverpool. Most of her career has been spent in Bristol and from 1998 to 2004 she was Head of School of Clinical Veterinary Science and she is the Pro Vice Chancellor for Education plus the faculties of Science and Engineering. Professor Waterman-Pearson has also achieved a number of awards and honours throughout her career and held the role of Honorary President of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists from 1986 to 1989.
