department based in the Barbara Russell Children’s Unit, Frenchay
Hospital.
The South West Paediatric Burn Outreach Team provides support
and education to burn injured children, their families and
professionals.
The Frenchay Burn Unit, Scar Management Service offers advice
and conservative management (treatments that do not involve
surgery) to treat scars.
Biobrane is one treatment option available to treat
superficial/partial thickness scald/burn injuries.
The skin is very important and provides a protective barrier to
the organs in the body.
