Paediatric (Childrens) Dressing Clinic

The Paediatric Dressing Clinic ( PDC ) is an out-patient department based in the Barbara Russell Children’s Unit.

Open from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday it offers nurse led appointments each day for dressing changes and wound reviews. New burn referrals are also accepted into clinic during these times.

The multi-disciplinary burns clinic led by the Consultants is held on Monday and Thursday afternoons. This clinic involves dressing changes, reviews and follow up appointments. Also present at these clinics are the Scar Management team and Paediatric Burn Outreach team.

Monday Burns Follow up clinic: 12.30pm to 2.30pm
Thursday Burns Follow up clinic: 2.00pm to 4.00pm

The nurses are available to give advice over the telephone if you have any queries about your child’s injury/dressing and have the flexibility to slot children into extra Nurse-only appointments where necessary.

Advice is also offered over the telephone to health care professionals with queries about a patient’s dressing/injury.
