Visiting Times
Visitors are very welcome but do not visit if you are
unwell. In particular, if you have had diarrhea or vomiting
you should not visit until you have been well for 48 hours.
Please to clean your hands prior to visiting.
North Bristol NHS Trust visiting times are between 2.30 pm and
4.30 pm and 6.30 pm-8.30 pm daily in most wards, although Intensive
Care, Acute Assessment Unit and the children’s ward may
operate a more flexible visiting time system.
Visiting times help us to maintain cleaner hospitals and keep
our wards quieter during patients’ mealtimes.
If the ward’s visiting arrangements don’t suit family and
friends, please speak with a member of the ward team about
this.
Please keep the number of visitors to 2 at a time so as not to
disturb other patients.
In certain circumstances, we can arrange for members of your
family to stay in the hospital. Please talk to a member of the ward
team.
Help us fight infections
- Tell us if you or any of your family have had diarrhoea or
vomiting in the 48 hours before admission
- Tell a member of the ward team if ward, bathroom or equipment
is unclean. Discuss all concerns with the matron
- Remind staff if they appear not to have cleaned their
hands
- Always wash your own hands after using the toilet facilities
and before eating
- Do not touch wounds, drains or drips. If a dressing is loose or
stained tell one of the nursing staff
- Do not visit if you are unwell. In particular, if you have had
diarrhoea or vomiting do not visit until you have been well for 48
