Breast Ultrasound Course for Surgeons

This course has been known as the Frenchay Breast Ultrasound Course. Our Breast Care Centre has moved to premises at Southmead Hospital Bristol. We have therefore renamed the course The Bristol Breast Ultrasound Course. This two day course is aimed primarily at breast surgeons and clinicians, consultants, SAS doctors, trainees or others.

You may have never picked up an ultrasound probe before, but recognised the value of using it in the clinic or theatre. Or you may be experienced in using it, but want to know a bit more, or you may want some official accreditation of your skills.

All courses are now full. 2019 dates will be posted in due course.

We aim to have some 15-20 participants on each one, a small enough number to allow the hands on experience on the workstations.

The course takes place over 2 days. There are lectures in the mornings and practical work in the afternoons.

The course fee is £400 which includes lunches and also a complimentary copy of our book “Interventional Ultrasound of the Breast” which contains some of the course material. Other course material will be supplied on CD.

A major part of the course for you, is your workplace learning and training. It is therefore essential that you have access to an ultrasound machine in your clinics and a radiologist who is willing to act as your mentor. Course Fee £400 Payable to Dr Mike Shere.
