Musculoskeletal CPD Day - Friday 19th October

8.30am to 1.30pm 

Topics will include:

  • Elective Orthopaedics- Knee Replacement Surgery
  • Major Trauma- Pelvic Trauma 
  • Patient Pathway
  • Surgical Management
  • Nursing Care
  • Rehabilitation
  • Fractured NoF

For those looking to join the MSK team, there will be the opportunity to express an interest and interview in the afternoon (1.30pm to 4pm).

Neurosciences CPD days - Thursday 27th September, Thursday 4th October, Thursday 6th December and Thursday 13th December

8.30am to 4pm

Topics will include:

  • Management of the pituitary patient
  • Management of the SAH patient
  • Neurogenic bladder/bowel to include surgical wound infection
  • Collar Care
  • EVD management
  • Epilepsy surgery/seizure management
  • Stroke
  • Neurology to include Guillain-Barre Syndrome, MS, Myasthenia Gravis.

ICU and Medirooms Event - Saturday 27th October

8.30am to 4pm

This event will provide an opportunity to find out more about our ICU and Mediroom departments. 

Our ICU department is the regional specialist critical care centre for:

  • Major Trauma 
  • Neurosurgery
  • Renal Medicine
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Urology
  • Plastics and Burns

The unit achieves excellent outcomes including some of the highest trauma survival rates in the country. 

Our Theatre Medirooms offer an exciting development of the traditional recovery approach and a chance to be part of an innovative development in perioperative patient care. Each Mediroom is a single patient facility in which you will admit the patient, prepare them for surgery, recover them post operatively and discharge them home/transfer them to an ongoing area of care (such as a ward, ICU) etec. 

The day will provide a fantastic opportunity to learn more about these departments and meet representatives from these clinical teams.
