Urology - Bristol Urological Institute
The Bristol Urological Institute (BUI) offers a complete clinical service to patients with urological problems. The institute was initially established in 1993 as a charity to promote research and training into urological diseases. In 2010, it was incorporated into North Bristol NHS Trust. We are the largest urology department in the South West and one of the largest in the country. The BUI intends to remain a patient focused organisation providing the best care to patients with urological conditions, and by working with them, to teach healthcare professionals about urology and to build on its research successes over the last 20 years.
Colorectal - Colorectal Cancer and Surgery Service
The Colerectal Cancer and Surgery Service encompasses support and advise to empower patients and families to make decisions in regards to different treatment options. This support is offered from diagnosis throughout the patient’s disease trajectory. Our Colorectal Nurse Specialist team provide nurse-led follow up for patients who have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer at North Bristol NHS Trust.
North Bristol NHS Trust Vascular Surgery delivers all aspects of arterial and venous care. We deliver the vascular service for the 1.12 million people of Bristol, North Somerset, Bath, North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Formed in 2014, the major arterial centre (MAC) for the network is Southmead Hospital The network is responsible for the delivery of both elective and emergency vascular care, along with complex endovascular services for the 3.5 million people of the South West.
North Bristol NHS Trust is a regional centre of excellence in plastic and reconstructive surgery. The service at Southmed Hospital is one of the largest in England providing a highly specialised team experienced in the most complex cases. Our Burns Service treats minor to moderate burn injuries within our burns unit and intensive care.
