Behind the scenes of complex medicine: the Purple Butterfly project

Our trust operates one of the most modern acute hospitals in Europe, providing high quality acute medical care for every patient.

We're not only a major trauma centre, but a regional specialist centre for a wide range of specialties and a centre of excellence of many disciplines.

In 2018 our Purple Butterfly project, led by Ward 9B, was recognised by the British Medical Journal and the team were awarded Palliative and Hospice Care Team of the Year.

For the first time, we'd like to share how we deliver our excellent end-of-life care to patients, despite working in a busy acute hospital.

Our Facebook Live will be structured like a webinar or online seminar, and to tune in, just click 'going' or 'interested' for updates.

By watching our seminar, you'll get:

- Participatory CPD time which can be put towards your revalidation
- An understanding of how to implement the purple butterfly approach
- An insight into how a large acute hospital manages patients with complex needs
