This test is to see if your baby has any hearing loss so that support and advice is offered as early as possible.
One to two babies in 1,000 are born with permanent hearing loss in one or both ears.
The test can be performed in hospital or at an outpatient clinic appointment and should be done by the time your baby is 4 to 5 weeks old, but can be done up to three months of age.
