12 bakes of Christmas launch was a sell out
Tuesday, 13 November 2018
Briony Williams, a semi-finalist in Channel 4's Great British Bake Off, has launched Southmead Hospital Charity’s new fundraising event - Bakewell 12 Bakes of Christmas.
Briony brought a showstopper three-tiered ginger cake and met with patients and staff in the hospital to launch the first of the 12 festive bake sales in the run up to Christmas in the hospital atrium on Monday 12 November.
The first of the 12 bake sales was very successful with more than 100 cakes selling out by 1.30pm.
Adrian Brown, Southmead Hospital Charity community and corporate manager, said: “We are thrilled to have the support of Briony who did such a great job on the Great British Bake Off, and we’re planning lots of brilliant baking events to come.
“The 12 Bakes of Christmas events are a brilliant way to support Southmead Hospital with a fun and easy bake sale of your own, or come along to any of our sales on Mondays and Wednesdays in the run up to Christmas in the hospital.
“We’ll have lots of festive treats on sale, including craft goods which make great stocking fillers.”
Over the next six weeks different teams in the hospital will be raising money for their department with a Christmas themed cake sale.
