BBC Radio Bristol broadcasts live from Brunel

BBC Radio Bristol will be broadcasting live from the Brunel atrium at Southmead Hospital tomorrow morning (July, 28) for Emma Britton’s Breakfast Show.
Throughout this week Emma has been going behind the scenes at Southmead Hospital, meeting staff and learning about what they do. From maternity to pathology, pharmacy to receipt and distribution, Emma visited a variety of departments to find out about the fantastic work of our staff.
On Monday, midwife Lara Basini talked to Emma about how she supports women in labour (1:25:08). Tuesday’s show featured imaging porter Robert Weeden celebrating working 40 years at North Bristol NHS Trust (1:07:04). On Wednesday, director of pathology David Gibbs explained the journey of a sample to Emma (57:16). Thursday’s show featured receipt and distribution team leader George Hulmes showcasing our AGV robots (1:24:32).
Tomorrow morning BBC Radio Bristol will be broadcasting live from 6.30-9am, look out for the team if you’re about.
Emma will be talking to consultant Gareth Wrathall about our intensive care unit, lead nurse Juliette Hughes about our emergency department, and meeting our pharmacy robots with senior technician Stephen Whitehead and director of pharmacy Jane Coleborn. The live broadcast will also feature our volunteers, Move Makers and an interview with chief executive Andrea Young.
