Bristol Rovers and Bath Rugby players visit Frenchay's children's unit

Thursday, 16 December 2010

Football and rugby players combined to suprise children at Frenchay Hospital and spread a little Christmas cheer.

Bristol Rovers and Bath Rugby both visited the Barbara Russell Children's Unit (BRCU) where many of the patients will have to spend Christmas.

Members of Bristol Rovers team visit the hospital every year to meet the youngsters and hand out gifts.

But this was the first year that the unit had a visit from the Bath Rugby players.

The two teams met at the half way point in the unit to shake hands before continuing on their present-giving duties.

The play specialists at the BRCU invite special guests into the ward every weekday in the lead-up to Christmas.
