Changes to parking charges from February 1

Monday, 1 February 2016

Following a review, North Bristol NHS Trust has introduced new parking charges for patients and visitors from today (February 1).

This is the first time in more than two years that charges have been increased and they remain in line with other hospitals in the region.

The new parking tariff is as follows:

0-2 hours - £3

2-4 hours - £4.50

4-6 hours - £6.50

6-8 hours - £7.50

8-24 hours - £9

Weekly ticket (7 days) - £25

The income generated from car parking charges is used to provide and maintain the car parks across our sites and any additional revenue is put into a central fund to invest in patient care.

Later this year the new multi-storey car park for patients and visitors will open at the Southmead site offering direct access to the Brunel building.

Plans are also in place to create new car parks at four locations around the Southmead site – funding for which will be supported by the increase in charges.

The Trust will continue to offer a reduced rate for carers and free parking to relatives of those who are receiving palliative care or are on an end of life pathway.

We also offer free parking to disabled people who display a blue badge in their car and a number of groups of patients and relatives that include cancer patients, patients receiving renal dialysis and parents of infants being cared for in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
