Exceptional Healthcare Awards - Supporting Southmead
Thursday, 2 November 2017
We are gearing up for our annual Exceptional Healthcare Awards.
The awards, supported by Southmead Hospital Charity, celebrate the efforts and achievements of some of our outstanding members of staff and volunteers.
In the lead-up to the awards ceremony on November 10, we will be showcasing the shortlisted nominees in every category.
Today we are looking at the Supporting Southmead category, which recognises volunteers, fundraisers and Move Makers who have made an outstanding contribution to the Trust.
The shortlisted nominees are:
John Allan, Move Maker
John is one of the original Move Makers who started volunteering at Southmead when the Brunel building opened in May 2014. John’s nomination discussed his kindness and commitment, highlighting how he helped a patient left without transport by providing a lift in his own car.
Graham Daynes, Move Maker
Graham’s nomination discussed his support of Southmead Hospital Charity throughout the year, including how he has helped extend the Move Maker role to the Emergency Department and Brunel car park, and his active interest in promoting the safe driving of the Atrium Buggy.
Lynda Ford, Move Maker
Lynda has provided administration assistance in the Move Maker office for the last three years. She is also trained to drive the Atrium buggy, and sings with the Move Maker Minstrels. Lynda’s nomination talked of how Lynda has contributed many items for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Dementia ward.
