Happy birthday to our Christmas Day babies
Friday, 28 December 2018
Congratulations to the families and happy birthday to the bundles of joy that arrived just in time for the festivities.
New life is always a precious gift, especially so when a baby is born on Christmas Day. This year has been a busy one for Mendip Birth Centre and the Central Delivery Suite at Southmead Hospital.
A total of 14 babies, seven boys and seven girls, were welcomed to the world on Christmas Day, with a few of them being born in the midwife-led Mendip Birth Centre.
Rachel Fielding, Director of Midwifery, said, “How wonderful and privileged we are to celebrate the arrivals. As midwives it’s always special when a new baby is born, but extra special on Christmas Day. Congratulations to all proud parents.”
Each baby born was given an Usborne First Christmas soft book and Child’s Farm toiletries, and the parents received some toiletries, all provided by Southmead Hospital Charity.
They were also given a Christmas pudding hat, kindly knitted by one of our midwife’s mum’s. To see more pictures visit and like our page at www.facebook.com/nbtmaternity.
