NBT wins two awards at Health and Social Care Awards

NBT picked up two awards at this year’s South West Health and Social Care Awards.
The awards, organised by the Department of Health and the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, were announced at a ceremony in Yeovil on May 7.
A team of neurologists and neurosurgeons from NBT won the transforming services category for Bristol Complex Epilepsy Surgery Service and Lesley Le Pine and her team won the people’s award for dignity category for the viewing Rooms Project.
Bristol Complex Epilepsy Surgery Service
The team have transformed the care and treatment they provide to patients by using the very latest technology available including: state-of-the-art brain stimulators and new generation MRI scanners.
NBT now treats more complex cases of epilepsy than ever before and the results show that more than 70 percent of patients are freed from severe seizures.
Viewing Rooms Project
The team are currently managing a redevelopment project which will see the environment and design of the mortuary viewing rooms transformed
Over the next five years, nearly 20,000 people will benefit from the new facilities.
The regional winners go through to another round of judging for places in the national finals to be held at the Excel Centre in London in July.

“These awards show what fantastic and pioneering work is being done by our staff at our hospitals.”
