New look restaurant and café at Frenchay Hospital
Wednesday, 20 October 2010
The Redwood Dining restaurant at Frenchay Hospital has a fresh new look as well as a new Redwood Café.
Redwood Café serves hot drinks, cakes and sandwiches in a dedicated area.
Redwood Dining continues to serve hot and cold meals as well as a range of refreshments.
At Southmead Hospital options for patients, staff and visitors include the recently opened Kendon Dining and Kendon Café.
All restaurants offer dishes for eat-in or takeaway and use either Fairtrade or Rainforest Alliance teas and coffees, locally sourced products, Free Range eggs and Freedom Foods/Farm Assured meats where possible.
Gluten-free and vegetarian choices are also provided daily.
In September 2009 North Bristol NHS Trust became one of only two hospital trusts in the country to receive the Soil Association Food for Life Catering Mark for patient meals.
The award was given in recognition of the Trust's commitment to providing a high proportion of freshly prepared dishes using farm-assured meat.
In addition, much of the food now comes from the local area – reducing the Trust's carbon footprint and supporting local businesses.
Look out for the regular themed menus at both Redwood Dining and Kendon Dining.
