NHS Heroes at North Bristol NHS Trust

Monday, 30 July 2012

North Bristol NHS Trust is taking part in NHS Heroes a new national scheme recognising those members of staff who go the extra mile for patients.

From now until mid-September, members of the public and patients can nominate anyone working for the NHS who have shown dedication and care for patients or for their work.

NHS Heroes who are nominated will receive a recognition certificate.

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley said: "Staff across the NHS in England carry out fantastic work every day - going the extra mile to make a real difference to people’s lives.

“The NHS Heroes scheme is a chance for everyone to formally recognise these staff and thank them for their hard work, passion and dedication.

“I urge everyone to celebrate your NHS Heroes by nominating staff from your local hospital, surgery and community.”

Marie-Noelle Orzel, North Bristol NHS Trust chief executive, said: “NHS Heroes is a celebration of the very best in the NHS, recognising those members of staff who show real care and dedication, whether they are working behind the scenes or on the front line.

“Patients and their families remember the small kindnesses and the efforts of our staff who care for people in their times of need.”

Members of staff can also nominate their colleagues to be an NHS Hero.

To nominate an NHS Hero an online form is available at www.nhsheroes.com.
