NHS Heroes honoured at North Bristol NHS Trust
Wednesday, 28 November 2012
140 members of staff at North Bristol NHS Trust have become NHS Heroes in a national scheme to recognise good practice.
Patients, their friends and families, work colleagues and professional peers nominated their personal NHS heroes in the first national award scheme run by the Department of Health.
The 140 members of staff nominated as NHS Heroes each received a certificate and attended a special afternoon tea party yesterday.
Staff from across Frenchay and Southmead hospitals and in community health services were nominated, including consultants, nurses, domestic staff and support staff.
Marie-Noelle, chief executive, who hosted the tea party, said: "NHS Heroes is about recognising those members of staff who go the extra mile, and what I am most proud of is to say that we have 140 members of staff who have been recognised as NHS Heroes which is an incredible achievement.
"This really does reflect how all our staff, clinical and non-clinical, those working in hospitals and in the community, are committed to providing exceptional healthcare."
