Our hospital is busy, here's how you can help

Thursday, 7 December 2017

A message from our Director of Nursing and Quality, Sue Jones:

Our hospital is currently very busy.

We have patients who are well enough to leave hospital but are currently waiting for care packages or care home places to do so.

This, combined with very unwell patients in the Emergency Zone requiring hospital beds and some cases of Norovirus means that we are experiencing significant pressure.

We are doing everything that we can to discharge patients who are well enough to leave as quickly as possible but you can also help us by helping your relatives or loved ones home.

You can also help us by making the right choice if you need healthcare advice or treatment and to avoid visiting the hospital if you have symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting.

Our priority is to provide the best care possible to those that need our help the most. If your needs are not a genuine emergency your pharmacist, GP or NHS 111 can help and will probably be able to see you quicker.
