Staff shine at green awards
Monday, 26 June 2017
Our staff won eleven special awards at the Green Impact Awards ceremony last week.
Green Impact is a sustainability engagement and accreditation scheme. The awards, held at the Wills Memorial Building, celebrated the efforts of organisations to be greener in the workplace.
We have saved more than £50,000 through active travel initiatives, reducing energy wastage, recycling better and supporting health and wellbeing activities.
Teams across the Trust received special recognition for their exceptional efforts to be greener. Four teams reached Gold accreditation; with a further ten teams achieving Bronze and Silver accreditation.
We were joined by partner organisations including University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and University of Bristol at the ceremony.
Our Director of Facilities, Simon Wood, said: “As a large employer we are committed to promoting sustainability in the workplace. We recognise that small actions can have a significant positive impact across the city.
“I am proud of our staff for their commitment to being greener. I’d also like to congratulate and thank people for making the effort to help make a real difference.”
