The North Bristol NHS Trust HIV Service is based at Southmead Hospital Bristol.
Where patients are known to be HIV positive they should be referred to the HIV specialist nurses via email, Brecon.email@example.com.
HIV testing would normally be undertaken by the GP, particularly now when treatment is so beneficial.
Where there are delicate issues regarding HIV testing patients can be referred to the specialist HIV team for pre test counselling.
For anonymous HIV testing and STI screening contact the Bristol Sexual Health Centre on 0117 3426900. For more information visit http://www.uhbristol.nhs.uk/.
Acutely ill HIV patients should be discussed with the HIV team or the hospital on call team for admission, contactable via switchboard.
