The Research Design Service, South West (RDS-SW) is part of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). It provides methodological expertise for researchers preparing proposals for submission to peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care research.
NBT's Research & Innovation office works closely with the RDS-SW and can facilitate discussions between you and their staff to discuss your research proposal. In addition, the RDS-SW holds scientific committee meetings once a month to critique potential NIHR applications and provide feedback to applicants. It is strongly advised that any researcher preparing an NIHR application submits a draft application to the RDS scientific committee at least 1 month in advance of the deadline.
The Research Design Service also holds an annual Residential Research School to allow researchers to spend time away from the work place to focus on preparation of an NIHR grant submission under the guidance and expertise of the RDS staff.
