IV Therapy Workshop

Length of course: 1 hour practical session

Who is it for? Registered nurses, midwives and other allied healthcare professionals caring for patients receiving intravenous therapy.

Pre-course requirements: Learners will have completed the pre-course eLearning on the Managed Learning Environment prior to booking a place on the practical session. Learners will need to have completed and passed the drug calculations test before attending.

Aim: To have the skills, knowledge and practice to safely manage the care of patients receiving IV therapy.

During the course learners will be orientated to trust equipment, correct method to drawing up IV medication using ANTT method and management of potential risks surrounding IV therapy using scenario based questions.
