Adult Urinary Catheterisation Training

Male & Urinary Catheterisation and Supra-Pubic Catheter Changes

Length of course: 4 hours

Who is it for? Any Nurse, Midwife or Allied Healthcare Professional and Trainee Assistant Practitioner wishing to undertake the clinical skill of urinary catheterisation.

Pre-course requirements: To have read the North Bristol NHS Trust policy on Adult Urethral Catheterisation and Supra-Pubic Re-Catheterisation (internal intranet link).

Aim: Participant will gain the knowledge and skills in order to perform the clinical skill of male urinary catheterisation and supra-pubic catheter changes. participant will also gain an awareness of female catheterisation.
