Patient Befriender

This role provides company and companionship to suitable patients, spending time with them on the wards, engaging in conversation or activities, with the support and supervision of ward staff.

Ward Support Volunteer

This role enhances the quality and comfort of the patient’s stay by offering complimentary patient support to improve the patient experience, under direct supervision from the qualified ward staff. 

Mealtime Companion

This role supports patient recovery through encouraging eating and drinking.  

ED Move Maker Volunteer

This role is to meet and greet patients and visitors arriving in the Emergency Department (ED) of the Brunel building, Southmead Hospital, providing directions, a listening ear, and support for general enquiries.

Fresh Arts Volunteer Musician

To enhance the experience of all members of the hospital community by providing background music for their enjoyment.

Patient and Carer Partner Short Term Role

We are looking for patients and carers from across our hospitals to work with us as Patient and Carer Partners. You can have received care as an inpatient or outpatient, in any department.

Cossham Hospital Move Maker (meet and greet)

We are looking for volunteers to meet and greet patients and visitors arriving in the public areas of Cossham Hospital, assisting and directing them to their onward destinations.

Ward Support (Maternity Services)

This role enhances the quality and comfort of the patient’s stay by offering complimentary patient support within Maternity Services, under direct supervision from the qualified ward staff. 

Patient and Carer Experience Survey Volunteer

This role improves the patient and carer experience through gathering and encouraging feedback from our service users and/or people who look after them at home (carers).
