Essential works to the ED and main entrances at Southmead Hospital on 1 and 2 August 2023

On Tuesday 1 August 2023, from 7am until 6pm, the main public and staff pedestrian entrances to the emergency department (ED) at Southmead Hospital (accessed from the ED car park) will be temporarily closed to allow for essential works to take place.

During this time patients can access the department from the nearby ED ambulance entrance, which will be clearly signposted.

Visitors are asked to use the main hospital entrance at the front of the Brunel Building and follow the signs to ED during this time, and staff are asked to use either the main hospital entrance or the staff entrance from the Avon Way car park.

The emergency department and ED car park will be open as normal during this time.

From 8pm on Wednesday 2 August 2023, the main entrance into the Brunel Building will be unavailable to allow for essential works to take place. During this time people can access the building from the nearby ambulance entrance, which will be clearly signposted. The doors will be open as usual during their normal opening hours on Thursday 3 August 2023.
