Professor Tim Draycott takes office as Vice President at the RCOG

Professor Tim Draycott, Consultant Obstetrician at North Bristol NHS Trust, was elected as one of the five new Vice Presidents of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and has now taken office, with responsibility for Clinical Quality.

He has been a clinician at NBT since 2002 and his innovative academic work includes safety research and multi-professional team working, particularly in intrapartum care.

He is the lead obstetrician for the PROMPT Maternity Foundation programme which has been implemented in many maternity units across the UK and internationally.

At policy level, Tim is a Senior Maternity Advisor to NHS Resolution and is also currently serving as the National Director for The Tommy’s Centre for Maternity Improvement, jointly formed by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the Royal College of Midwives (RCM). The Tommy’s Centre programme aims to harness digital technology and national data to improve maternity care in the UK.
