Foundation Year Doctors

The Foundation Programme is a 2 year programme bridging the gap between medical undergraduate training and specialty training.

The Foundation Team manage the in house teaching programme for 1st and 2nd year foundation doctors. This includes fortnightly teaching sessions delivered by specialty experts and covering the foundation curriculum and objectives as specified by the General Medical Council.

In addition to this we provide regular ½ day simulation teaching sessions covering a range of acute medical scenarios with a strong human factors focus.

We host several regional teaching days over the year aimed at foundation year 2 doctors from across the Severn Deanery area. These include topics such human factors, research skills, and clinical skills.

These days are advertised and applied for through the Severn Deanery Website.
