Qualified 1985 UCL, specialist training at Kings College, Homerton Regional Rehabilitation Unit and Stanmore Spinal Injuries Unit.
First consultant appointment Brighton and Sussex University Hospital (BSUH) / Southdowns Health and later Clinical Director for Rehabilitation. Set up the Sussex Rehabilitation Centre, Haywards Heath (52 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, all ABI) and oversaw the transition of the Brighton Artificial Limb and Appliance Centre to the Sussex Rehabilitation Centre, Brighton (outpatient service covering neurological and physical rehabilitation, spasticity management, prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs and special seating. Involved in working party to establish BSUH as a Major Trauma Centre in 2012.

Dr Shigong Guo

Shigong Guo is a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine specialising in trauma, vascular and amputee rehabilitation. He is also Clinical Specialty Lead for the Bristol Centre for Enablement. With an academic background in bioengineering and medical law, as well as previous higher surgical training in trauma & orthopaedics, Dr Guo has a keen interest in the biomechanical and medico-legal aspects of musculoskeletal trauma and amputations, and their effects on clinical practice and rehabilitation.
