Working within a team, our Medical Secretaries act as key contact point, liaising with patients, medical and nursing staff and other external agencies and dealing with queries competently and professionally.
Key responsibilities would include typing clinic notes/reports and general correspondence, arranging meetings and managing diaries, ordering stationary, making and taking phone calls, supporting with post and emails and other tasks required by the department within the required time frames.
Audio-Typists
Our Audio-Typists specialise in typing up text from audio sources, which may include consultant clinics, discharge summaries, pre-op and patient letters. It can be an excellent role for individuals with good keyboard skills to expand their experience and skill set in the field of audio-typing. Duties also include answering telephone calls and resolving queries from patients, relatives and clinical staff, as well as supporting the medical secretary with all other admin duties.

This will further support outstanding care, quality and safety for our patients, with a single view of information for clinicians and collaboration at our core. In the last 2 years alone we have delivered multiple innovations across the Trust – many in support of NBT’s Covid response – which has seen a revolution in digital behaviours.
