Senior Leadership
Introduction to Senior Leadership Roles
Our vision is to realise the great potential of our organisation by empowering our skilled and caring staff to deliver high-quality, financially sustainable services in state-of-the-art facilities. Clinical outcomes will be excellent and with a spirit of openness and candour, we will ensure an outstanding experience for our patients.
In our most recent CQC inspection, our Trust was rated as “Good”, a major benchmark of high quality and effective services. Crucially, the Trust’s approach to caring for patients was rated Outstanding, as was the way our organisation is led. Of the 37 domains inspected on this occasion, which make up the Trust’s overall rating, 31 were either rated as Good or Outstanding.
We are proud of our leaders, working in a wide range of roles and specialties to ensure we deliver outstanding patient care across our Trust. At North Bristol NHS Trust, we value all people as individuals. We are an anti-discriminatory organisation and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We strive to be truly inclusive.
We also work closely with partner organisations across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) as part of the Healthier Together BNSSG Integrated Care Board (ICB) to ensure we realise the opportunities which come from working across the wider health and care system.

What makes North Bristol NHS Trust unique?

Associate Director of Quality (Patient Safety and Experience)
×Are you ready to shape patient safety and experience across what will become one of England’s largest Foundation Trusts?
University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust and North Bristol NHS Trust are working together as the NHS Bristol Group, with the ambition to become a single Foundation Trust in Summer 2026. This transformation will enhance outcomes for patients, staff, and our wider communities.
We are seeking an Associate Director of Quality (Patient Safety & Experience) to provide strategic leadership across the Group. You will drive an integrated approach to human factors, patient safety, and patient experience—embedding safety science, improving experience, and generating insight that supports continuous improvement.
In this highly influential role, you will align people, policy, practice, and partnerships to strengthen how we work and the impact we make. You’ll join forward‑thinking, ambitious organisations that value innovation, curiosity, and learning.
It’s a dynamic environment with real opportunity to shape our future direction. Are you ready to make a meaningful difference?

They will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, quality, efficiency and safety of laboratory operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. We are seeking a proactive, confident leader who can make sound decisions under pressure and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels. Associate Director of Digital Programmes (Strategy and Investment)
Associate Director of Digital Programmes (Strategy and Investment)
×In our refreshed Digital Services leadership structure, this role is one of two Band 8d Associate Directors with a clear and intentional distinction. While the Delivery Associate Director leads the execution of major digital programmes, this Strategy & Investment role is the engine room that sets the overall direction of travel, working in close partnership to ensure seamless handover from strategic planning into delivery.
As the strategic lead, you will shape the Group’s digital roadmap, drive prioritisation across both Trusts, and ensure the right governance, business cases, financial planning and capacity modelling are in place before programmes move into delivery. This role lines up every duck — planning, investment, risk, benefits, CIPs, portfolio oversight and organisational readiness — so that when delivery begins, it succeeds. Reporting to the Group Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer, you will work collaboratively as part of a mature senior leadership team. With a highly competent and experienced digital programmes function already in place, we are looking for someone who can build on this strength, accelerate strategic alignment and take our digital planning capability to the next level.
If you are energised by strategic thinking, system‑wide alignment, intelligent planning and influencing at scale — and thrive on working with senior clinical, operational and executive leaders — this is your opportunity to shape the future digital landscape for NBT and UHBW.
