Condition / Indication: Two major vasculitis associated patterns - 1)C-ANCA (cytoplasmic, usually anti-PR3 positive) associated with Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's) (>80%), Microscopic Polyangiitis, Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg Strauss).  2)P-ANCA (perinuclear, often anti-MPO positive) seen in Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's), Microscopic Polyangiitis, Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg Strauss). N.B. P-ANCA (anti-MPO positive or negative) also seen in CTD (e.g.rheumatoid, SLE) with or without vasculitis, in some infections or may be drug induced..

Special precautions & notes: Store at 2-80C prior to referral.

Reference range: ANCA – reported as a Immunofluorescence pattern
PR3 <2.0 IU/ml (2.0 – 3.0 IU/ml = equivocal)
MPO <3.5 IU/ml ( 3.5-5.0 IU/ml = equivocal)
