Special precautions & notes: Anti-CCP antibodies are more specific than rheumatoid factor for rheumatoid arthritis but are not diagnostic. When present they are associated with more severe, persistent and erosive disease. They can occur in asymtomatic individuals and may be detected prior to disease onset.
