Special precautions & notes: Fasting sample preferred.  Value may be decreased with recent food intake and increased by haemolysis or delay in receipt. TmP/GFR to further investigate renal phosphate handling is requestable as a single entity through ICE requiring a paired serum and urine sample to be processed - see attachment for details on patient preparation.

Reference range: Adults 0.80 - 1.50 mmol/L, See document below for Reference Ranges in Children (ages 0-18 years).
