Special precautions & notes: Ensure that specimen reaches laboratory on the day of collection.

Reference range: Adult ranges- Indications for liver biopsy: pre-treatment >13ug/L, during treatment >7ug/L in at least 3 samples over 12 months, during treatment >13ug/L in 2 consecutive samples. Indications for withdrawal of methotrexate during treatment >17ug/L in at least 3 samples over 3 months.
