Colonoscopy

This is an examination of your large bowel (colon) to try and find the cause for your symptoms.

Endoscopic Ultrasound examination (EUS)

This is a specialised technique used to examine the lining and walls of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Enteroscopy from above

This is an examination of your small intestine to try and find the cause for your symptoms.

Enteroscopy from below

This is an examination of your small intestine to try and find the cause for your symptoms.

Flexible sigmoidoscopy

This test is a very accurate way of looking at the lining of the left side of your large bowel (colon). 

Gastroscopy

This is an examination of your oesophagus (gullet), stomach and the first part of your small bowel called the duodenum.

What is capsule endoscopy?

This involves swallowing a small capsule (the size of a large vitamin tablet), which will pass naturally through your digestive system, taking pictures of the intestine.
