Skin Cancer Services

Skin Cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world.  The most frequent forms of Skin Cancer are BCCs (Basal Cell Carcinomas), SCCs (Squamous Cell Carcinomas) and Malignant Melanomas; the latter can have more serious implications if left untreated. 

North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) is one of the main centres for treating patients with Skin Cancer in the South West.

The Plastic Surgery and Dermatology teams provide a complete integrated Skin Cancer Service for Bristol and the surrounding areas. We provide a service for our local area and a more specialist tertiary management for the South West region.

We serve a population of about 900,000 people in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. We see and treat approximately 12,000 patients with suspected or confirmed skin cancer, while more than 5,000 patients have a minor or a more complex operation every year.

NBT hosts the Specialist MDT for Skin Cancer, providing management from diagnosis to complex oncological and surgical treatment.
