Southmead Hospital’s Emergency Department is a 24-hour, seven days a week walk-in service. You do not need to book an appointment to be seen. 

• Opening hours - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Location - Gate 35, Level 0, Brunel building, Southmead Hospital, Southmead Road, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, BS10 5NB.
• Parking - Southmead Emergency Department has a dedicated car park accessible from Dorian Way, which works via automatic number plate recognition. Payment by credit card, notes or coins is required before you exit the car park.

How to find us

The Emergency Department is located in the main Brunel building on our Southmead Hospital site. 

We are on Level 0 at the rear of the building, and can be accessed from the Emergency Department entrance, or from the Brunel atrium by the lifts by the League of Friends cafe.

Parking

The nearest car park is outside the main Emergency Department entrance. However, please note spaces are limited. 

The drop-off bay is time limited to 20 minutes and checked regularly. 

The car park outside the Emergency Department is 24 hours, and parking can be paid for using the machines outside the department entrance. 

Parking can be paid for using cash, card or the app when you leave the dept.
