Interstitial Lung Disease

The Bristol Interstitial Lung Disease Service at North Bristol NHS Trust cares for catchment area of around 550,000 people (plus additional referrals from other centres), with a variety of interstitial lung diseases including:

  • Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
  • Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (HP).
  • Sarcoidosis.
  • Pulmonary fibrosis related to auto-immune conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis, SLE, systemic sclerosis, Sjogren's syndrome.
  • Pulmonary fibrosis due to other causes.

Our team includes two Consultant Respiratory Physicians with a specialist interest in Interstitial Lung Disease, Dr Adamali and Dr Barratt. A Consultant Rheumatologist, Dr Gunawardena. Three Specialist Nurses, Michelle Morales, Naomi Rippon, Carolyn Hewlett and Sarah Mulholland, Highly Specialist Pharmacist in Respiratory Medicine. We also have an ILD Secretary, Louise Brennan.

We also have the support of a team of Surgeons, Radiologists and Pathologists.

Our specialist clinics are help twice weekly and in addition a twice monthly joint clinic with the Rheumatologist.
