Do you have an idea for a project you are keen to pursue? The first question you need to ask before setting up any research study is 'Is it research?'.
Not all research conducted within the UK requires approval from an NHS Research Ethics Committee (REC). To determine if your study requires this type of approval, click here to access the Heath Research Authority’s decision tool.
If your project is determined to be a valid research study, you will then need to:
- Write a protocol.
- Find funding.
- Obtain sponsorship.
- Apply for approval.
